I am not big on writing books.
But believe me, if you are a poet, or think you are one, or for some godforsaken reason aren't one and want to be, this is the one book you should get and read it and use it.
It's a collection of all the poetic forms you have ever heard of and many you can't beleive really exist.
This is the anecdote for all this damned "poetry" that is just mental flushing, gushing out over the page.
Sit down and write a villanelle or sestina or sonnet or rubai and see what it does for you.
If you are serious, own this book.
If you are a dilettante, get this book and it might make your serious.
Then you can go back to writing mushy drivel if you want. But you'll be better at it.
