I liked the article - very informative. Thanks for posting the link.

My second published poem (long ago) concerned an autistic child. I speculated on his world from his eyes, very different from our own. Feedback I received from readers, at that time, showed the poem captured something 'other worldly' that helped them to understand the autistic experience. Bob Dylan said in a recent interview about his early work, "I don't really know how I did that". I can say the same about my poem. It was a type of speculative poetry, as defined by your article.

What a great article. I was reading some poetry and I was unsure if it was unsure if it was speculative or not. Now I have a much clear idea of what it is.
